40th Wedding Anniversary and Mothers' Day
Sunday May 8th marked our 40th wedding anniversary as well as Mothers' Day (in Australia).
To celebrate, Mary and I packed a picnic lunch and paddled to 'Point Danger' (!?) on the Hacking River, to a small reserve maintained by NPWS. We unpacked our champagne and slamon rolls and two festive crackers then paddled back. Please note the hat and bow-tie!! The pics of us in the kayak were taken by a friendly member of the RVCP boat which was moored nearby. The land pics were time-delay.
The later pics are of our Mothers' Day get together at Alison and Craig's place. Will was absent, having a heavy cold. Mary presented me with an ASUS netbook computer and she received a pair of ruby earings (gemstone for 40 years). I had also prepared a mounting of several pics of us starting with a wedding photo and including us on Tryfan, in Greece, France a cruise liner and here in Sydney. Must add one more for Machu Pichu!
The return journey--not quite a straight course--bit wobbly--drunk in charge of a kayak!!
Next--the evening meal and presents. Alison cooked us all a lovely meal!
