A swim, a journey past a bus doing press-ups-and the theatre

Michael provided the towels and we set off for London Fields public pool --one of the only 9 Olympic sized pools in Britain. It was rather crowded but Mary was pleased to be overtaking younger people in the slow lane.

There are some Hackney street and market scenes --to provide flavour--including a pic of a London bus doing press-ups and i found the site of the old Reeves Paint Brush and paint business--anyone remember them?

In the afternoon we met up with Jacqui and Tom and also Lishi--Michael's girlfriend and after a meal at a Jamie Oliver restaurant we went to the Cambridge Theatre to see a production of 'Matilda' based on the story by Roald Dahl-it was brilliantly executed and well received by the audience. The theatre is near the offices of the Actors' Union--Equity.

There is a lot of 'pavement' info on the Olympics and London by night continues to be  very 'exciting' and colourful.

We travelled there and back by bus using Oyster cards--very easy.
