Getting away from the bush fire smoke, then yesterday's massive downpour , 20mm in 10 mins, and 90kmph violent winds which cut our power for 20 hours and uprooted and de-branched massive trees on the street, we opted for a quiet paddle with friends to a quiet Maianbar beach for a muesli bar and water bottles midday snack.

Our local gallery , Hazelhurst, run by the council, hosted the year 12 indigenous art display which opened on Sunday with appropriate indigenous dances in Aboriginal costume . There were about 4o entries on display, all very good and some were for sale. The ones we liked had already been sold unfortunately.
