A walk in the woods
Today I managed to get away for a couple of hours and went by a country route into Gt Missenden, famed as the home of Roald Dahl and his museum and tea shop, as well as being the scene for many Midsomer Murder mysteries.
Murder in the woods seemed well on the cards. It's all quaint and old--even the postboxes are Victorian.
It was bleak, about 7 Deg C with a bit of wind to make it feel colder. I actually enjoyed the cool dark, wet gloom. Unending weeks in Sydney of searing sun and using sunblock and sunglasses all the time, not being able to do much physically for hours in the day until cooler. This weather quickened everything.
There are many little pathways and passages between houses in England, as well as footpaths through countryside, which makes it all the more fascinating.
The French Restaurant looked inviting, as does the strangely titled Roald Dahl Cafe Swizfigglinly--galumptiously etc etc
