Ambleside, a walk and a lesson in walking poles!

Today being initially wet, went to Ambleside-a charming Lake District village near Lake Windermere, where mary looked at jackets in shops and bedraggled holidaymakers sat eatring fish and chips. Later, when the sun emerged, we went for a walk at Holbech Ghyll. In the later afternoon we had an appointment with Heather Rhodes, inventor of the "Pacer Pole"--a walking pole with a difference--that I have used for some years myself.

Heather is a passionate advocate for good posture --especially when walking and treated us to an animated lecture, plus demonstartions,  in her 35 acre garden, overlooking the Langdales.

A low flying  fighter jet passed over the lake and  BELOW our height--reminding us that the home of the famous Red Arrows is not far away. All too quick to photograph.
