Ancient Temples and Casa Rocco in Valletta

A taxi took us  to the site of the oldest authenticated temple site in the world (over 5000 years old) where there was also a brilliant 4D audiovisual projection. From there to Valletta where we had lunch in a cafe we had been to before, which served really good meals  and met the  owner again, Rossana, who asked us to try her new Tiramisu--which was excellent. Rossana speaks four languages and has worked in Italy, France and Spain. Here she is with the tiramisu. She plans to go back to Italy and indulge her interest in archaeology.

We then visited the Casa Rocco, an 'as was' 1650's home of a Maltese nobleman (whose family -9th Marquis and Marchioness  de Piro) still own it. Apart from looking like an English NT property, it had a massive bomb shelter under it to protect residents and neighbours from the 14 bombing raids a day by the Luftwaffe in the 1940's.

In a modern 'battle' the Republican freedom and justice monument,to the annoyance of the governmant,  has been smothered in articles by the journalists' association, denouncing the 2017 assassination by car bomb, of a female Maltese journalist who was investigating financial corruption in government. This evil act  must not be forgotten or  pass  unpunished, small though Malta may be.
