ANZAC service -Bundeena 2015

A routine ANZAC Day (April 25th) is an important date in Australia, so the 100th year anniversary of WWI receives particular attention and in Bundeena they held their service a week early.

All the armed  services were represented, including a fly-past. The Bundeena Band (of which I'm a member) provided the marching music and background for the hymns and anthems.

The tributes at the memorial stone included a wreath laid by the Turkish community and the eulogy included a statement from the Turkish government acknowledging the bipartisan nature of the tributes, in recent times.

After the service, we provided music in the makeshift marquee of the RSL club, the original building having burned down a few months ago.

There were lashings of tea nd scones, of course, provided by the women's auxiliary!
