Blenheim Palace-second visit

Again with cousin Valerie, who drove us there,

also Mary and Clifford this year, we saw the first floor. Enter 'Blenheim' in search field to  see the ground floor, last year.

There were clever holgraphic and video

images, plus life-like dummies which even breathe, in reconstructed rooms totell the history of the Dukes of Marlborough-- a licentious lot (one of the rooms shows a mistress of a King (Charles?) in bed with another 'amour' hidden in a cupboard)

but also including a science enthusiast and friend of Thomas Edison and, of course, Sir Winston Churchill himself.

He has a statue and a memorial garden of English wildflowers. The grounds are splendid and the many staff everywhere, have a sort of 'Royal reserve' in their manner, which makes them a bit 'distant' to deal with. Even our annual pass from last year, has gold leaf on it--quite a souvenir.Even some of the guides and tourists looked very well dressed in a chic sort of way, or spoke 'Etonish' and may have been part of that class of society.
