Boat Harbour picnic and swim

For Michael's birthday he chose Boat Harbour, some 15 mins from here but only accessible across private land for $40 a return trip or $160 season pass. It's  only safe  for boys with 'big toys' with big tyres and lots of clearance and traction. The beach scene below shows how extensive this area is--stretching for a couple of miles.

Caryl and Will were available, the Mackays being in the middle of HSC for Toby  and professional presentations by Alison , plus Mary had a cellulitis infection in her arm and decided to stay back. She is now well recovered. Kris and Michael had pre-prepared an excellent lunch and we all had a swim. I finally got my wetsuit back from Michael after about 15 years, which allowed me to really spend time in the water, which was really cold --16 Deg C but really really nice and excellent for swimming. It was so good to be in the water again.  The background horizon is Cronulla, our neighbouring seaside suburb.

In the last pic in the water, we are holding the 'crab' pose, so named by Jaquie, many years ago.

I've also discovered the app 'Strava' which allows tracking and reporting on movement so I include my first experiment with it on a kayak trip last week. It's only one way because I only remembered to turn it on at the half way point when we got out of the kayaks for a reckky of the  bay we had paddled to.

Last pic is a beautiful rose from my garden, called Father Love,  a rose bush Christas present from a daughter-lovely scent as well.
