Boree Regatta 2012

Last weekend (Oct 20th) was the Annual Boree Regatta--now held at Kurnell. About 700 youth members and leaders camped there or came for the day to take part in all the competitive and fun activities.

The older scouts--Venturers, were challenged to build a kayak from a 'flat pack' of plywood plus electrical tags and some glue! The results were surprisingly good. The junior sections built rafts. There were also amny land activities.

Art Exhibition

Our local gallery , Hazelhurst, run by the council, hosted the year 12 indigenous art display which opened on Sunday with appropriate indigenous dances in Aboriginal costume . There were about 4o entries on display, all very good and some were for sale. The ones we liked had already been sold unfortunately.
