Buttermere

First a pic of  terraced houses, the green one of which is our B & B.

On the way to Buttermere, you pass through Honister Pass--very steep --then past a slate mine almost at the very top of the pass.

Beautiful day around Lake Buttermere--we walked gradually to a high point and found that the path down was scarily precipitous--but fun as well!

The occasional sheep popped it's head up to see us--some have taken to 'streaking' their hair! Red, in this case

The Cumbrian town and village names are fascinating.
