Yesterday our Rovers and Venturer leader took part in a ceremony marking collaboration between Aboriginals and the new settlers, following 1788. This took place at the point where captain Cook first landed--very close to our suburb.
The international word for a scout 'Jamboree' is an Aboriginal word.

Our local gallery , Hazelhurst, run by the council, hosted the year 12 indigenous art display which opened on Sunday with appropriate indigenous dances in Aboriginal costume . There were about 4o entries on display, all very good and some were for sale. The ones we liked had already been sold unfortunately.
