Cottage interior, Brixham and a 'cousin' visit

This thatched cottage-Rosecote 2-has two rooms downstairs--kitchen and lounge and two bedrooms upstairs--one with ensuite and one separate bathroom and toilet. It is very 'cosy' and comfortable for two couples. The downstairs is shown below. The cottage is rentable to recommended people only, when the family are not using it. There is also a pic of a photo from the wall of the kitchen, showing the same cottage 130 years ago, with the mother outside. Quite remarkable.

Today was cloudy and about 17Deg C--so not great, but not too bad either. We went first to Brixham, famous for the port of the Golden Hind--Frances Drake's ship--of which there is a pic of a replica--and landing point of William of Orange--for whomI have a pic of a memorial plaque on a statue of him. Pic of the whole statue was difficult as the base pedestal had fish and chip-eating English people sitting on it!

Later we had lunch with some third cousins (Sally and husband Robin)  in a delightful house in Stoke Gabriel. The house probably dates back to 1300's and has been successively added to over generations, to become a splendid synthesis and a home that speaks of generations of residency.

On the right is one of their daughters-Alice-who has stayed with us briefly in Caringbah and seeks employment teaching French-the subject of her degree!
