Inspired by the kayaking, we decided to try a cycle trip along a nearby coastal path. So close in fact that we cycled from home to it. The path ends at a coastal seabird sanctuary, where the arrival of the bar-tailed godwit from Alaska via India (I think?) is eagerly anticipated. It's cousin, the silver-tailed nitwit has reportedly already arrived at the USA White House .

Our local gallery , Hazelhurst, run by the council, hosted the year 12 indigenous art display which opened on Sunday with appropriate indigenous dances in Aboriginal costume . There were about 4o entries on display, all very good and some were for sale. The ones we liked had already been sold unfortunately.
