Dartmouth revisited in SUNSHINE!

Jacqui and Tom's last day so we drove to Dartmouth in two cars before they continued after lunch, to London.

The sun made SUCH a difference to everything and it reached 19Deg C as well.

Just a few pics--we ate crab sandwiches at the plaque commemorating where the Mayflower left, in 1620, for the new country of 'America'.  We found some old dates on a wall and a very old-pillared building.

There is a very old fort at the port entrance to Dartmouth--which was to keep out the French, Spanish, Dutch etc ships.

On our return to Hope Cove, Mary and I stopped at Slapton Sands, famous for the training for the D-Day landings in France. I took a pic of a blue flower and some starfish and we had an ice-cream--what a contrast to the military  scenes there in 1944.

In the car going home, I passed across a French radio station on the car radio--and for the first time ever--it didn't sound like a foreign language--I just listened to it as if it was a usual English station--when I realisedwhat had happened--it was quite a shock!
