Eclipse 2012

This morning at 6.39am standard Eastern Time in Cairns, Queensland, a total eclipse took place-the last until 2028. In spite of light cloud, the eclipse was clearly visible and these NASA pics were from my computer screen and TV news. There were a few seconds of total darkness--more dark than any normal night sky.

NASA included some beach scenes before and after, for general effect!

Here in Sydney we experienced only 67% of the eclipse and it is a very cloudy, cold, wet morning--so no photo opportunities

Art Exhibition

Our local gallery , Hazelhurst, run by the council, hosted the year 12 indigenous art display which opened on Sunday with appropriate indigenous dances in Aboriginal costume . There were about 4o entries on display, all very good and some were for sale. The ones we liked had already been sold unfortunately.
