Emsworth, Stoke Poges and Prestwood
Our journey from Devon included an overnight stop with schoolfiend Geoff (OBE) and wife Patsy, at Ringwood, where Patsy produced an excellent evening meal.
We drove, next morning, to Emsworth where childhood friend Myra was still cleaning her teeth when we arrived at the front door and -humorous as ever--posed for the proof!
Then followed by a pub lunch (liver, bacon and mash-lovely!)
We also had a walk by the harbour at Emsworth, opposite Hayling Island.
The next day, at Prestwood, Rilla and Shirlaw came to collect the car which they had generously loaned for our trip and we all had lunch with Jacqui and Louis at nearby Petersley farmshop with eating 'yurt' and outside tables.
Schoolfriend Chris and wife Jennifer arrived later and after an hour's talking,
we left with Chris and Jennifer for a walk in woods near Hedgerley church, my old scout 'hiking area',
including a picturesque pub,
where they sold a variety of local beers with interesting names.
Later Jennifer cooked a lovely dinner and we caught up with all our various activities and news of other friends--and I talked too much....!
Slept well that night.
