Evans Lookout to Govetts Leap bushwalk

Cousin John lives in Blackheath in the Blue Mountains and his brother Keith is visiting Oz. We last met in London at Jacqui's place about 5 weeks ago. I travelled up by train and we set off about 9.15am from Evans Lookout, in great walking weather. We took the 'horse track' (poor horse!) to the valley floor. The walk along the riverside is far more spectacular than you would imagine from just overseeing the bush.

Near Junction Rock we caught sight of a larg orange crayfish in the river--you can see it centre of the pic.

At Junction Rock we turned left to Bridal veil falls which terminated in an almost vertical  staircase ascent literally up the rock wall. The Rodriguez Pass, 905 steps. Very spectacular. Lunch was at the bottom of bridal Veil falls. We finished by returning along Pope's Glen, getting back to the house by 4.00pm having covered at least 12Kms. The walking poles were really good!
