Portsmouth -Fareham- Hampshire
Driving from Swanage via the Studland car ferry, we stayed with nephew David and wife Clare, married last year, in their house in Fareham. We walked from there to Gun Warf, Portsmouth and the next day to the sea by the Hamble river, where remnants of hurricane Bertha brought strong winds.
WWII D Day expeditions set out from here. Portsmouth has so many pleasure craft that special storage racks are used.
There are many brand name factory outlet stores on the forshore at Portsmouth so I spent a rare four hours actually clothes shopping! Unheard of.
