Finally home--and thanks to all of YOU!
Just an hour ago we arrived back home--collected from the airport by Brice--after two flying stages--13 hours and then just 6 hours--with a one and half hour stop at Singapore --very fast--a Qantas airbus 380.
It was very dark and VERY cold when we got out of the terminal and arriving back to the house felt really weird indeed--it seemed quite strange and the house is very cold. The compensation and excitement will of course, be seeing our Australian families and grandchildren.
Well--this travel blog is sadly at an end--though I shall keep adding events as they occur from time to time. Please feel free to keep reading.
So it is time to thank all of you readers--including our family members---thanks for your encouraging comments--it has been hard sometimes to find the time and energy to keep it fresh each day and to overcome Mary's objections about the time it took, each late evening !
We do hope you all enjoyed it and found it entertaining and also informative.
To people we have met for the first time overseas--particularly in Cyprus---thank you for being part of our holiday --we really enjoyed meeting you all-please do email us and keep in touch. You are all welcome here.
Thanks especially to all the people we met in France--especially Agnès, Alexandre and Christiane in Lyon and Christiane in Arzon--you made our French holiday very special indeed--and improved our French --I just wish we were still there--in the warmth!
To those who we normally see in the --it was SO good to catch up again and thank you all for your generous hospitality.
Thanks to Roger Lea for the weekly news updates from the 'Shire' --very helpful for us to stay in touch.
Thanks also to all those people who kept our considerable responsibilities while we were away--at the Choir, at Scouts and at FASS--we really have missed you all.
Bob and Mary
