Frank Mitchell
Frank was a good mate through scouting.
He initiated and oversaw the construction of the scout hall. His sons were all scouts there and recently several of his granddaughters.
He was a happy, optimistic, generous man with a great sense of humour, very respectful and polite and always encouraging.
Every Tuesday morning at 7.00am for many years he joined in our small walking group and often brought visitors with him, colleagues, family and backpackers .
He believed strongly that travel broadens the mind and encourages tolerance.
When he went into hospital recently for some treatment we never thought that a week or so later he would die peacefully there, surrounded by his family. He was 88.
The picture is of Frank on his 80th birthday with two daughters.
He will be very much missed and his influence will be felt for many years to come.
