French Market 2025

A cloudy, windy, very cool day but mercifully dry until about 4.00pm. The event is organised by a local bilingual primary school (one of only three in NSW) that we helped get off the ground about five years ago. It's the school annual fair day.

In spite of conditions, it was again packed. Many stalls had been relocated into classrooms. Initially this seemed disappointing but inside it was bright, warmer and very colourful and more friendly. Our usual French Napoleonic soldiers were there on duty with an added Irish battalion soldier-in green of course-I never knew the Irish were involved, but then again-another opportunity for them  to fight to English! The French Consul to Sydney was there too. I would have liked to ask him if they still had some submarines spare as our AUKUS deal starting to look dodgy!

Lots of French people visiting and many completely French stall holders. Mary and myself enjoyed a hot raclette for lunch and caught up with many friends. Our bookstall sold well -over 100 sold.
