A fast-paced variation of the game 'croquet', gateball is increasingly popular and my cousin and wife, John and Penny from Blackheath, generously came down to 1st Caringbah Scouts to demonstrate last night. The game generated a lot of interest and those wishing to follow it up are encouraged to google gateball for local clubs.
With half the troop doing knots in the hall and half on gateball, plus lots of leaders, I managed a cup of coffee in the kitchen (Group Leader privilege!)

Our local gallery , Hazelhurst, run by the council, hosted the year 12 indigenous art display which opened on Sunday with appropriate indigenous dances in Aboriginal costume . There were about 4o entries on display, all very good and some were for sale. The ones we liked had already been sold unfortunately.
