Henley and Burnham Beeches

Yesterday we all went to Henley, famous for the Boat Race (won decisively by Cambridge this year) and regattas. After an attempt at a playground with Louis, we had lunch in Zizzi's Italian restaurant-- a very popular place. Pic of Mary inspecting the menu on display in the horse and carriage-sized laneway.It rained all day .A lot of very old and quaint buildings there and a well known antique book shop, Jonkers.

Today we visited niece Alex (now Ass. Prof. at London School of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene) and family in Burnham and after lunch in the 'Feathers'  pub , walked in the forest of Burnham Beeches, maintained by the City of London and hopefully protected from development. On a lake were some colourful Chinese Mandarin ducks. Weather improved.

Our bronchitis now receding but Mary's unpleasant rash has returned-maybe the erythromycin antibiotic. Very frustrating for her.
