Hottest Day in Summer 2013?
The forecast of 43 Deg C was right! The thermometer is something of an antique -see picture--but is still accurate.
Inside, the Gallileo thermometer (thanks to Alison and Craig) records 28 Deg C at the time shown on my wristwatch. Mary retreated to a corner of the sunroom with the paper.
The heat makes you a bit 'bizarre' --so I wore my 'Cobber'--a water-gel filled sausage that you can wear round the neck or head (thanks to cousin Valerie). A friend in a nearby suburb has been warned to evacuate their house and there is a bush fire near the nuclear reactor in our local National Park--but there will be no risk to the public from that.
Our front garden pond looks cool with the pond, but the plants are suffering and one climber has died. There are two Cleomes in front of the pond (thanks for the seeds Ann!). Even Dolly--our garden dinosaur looks a bit heat-affected!
There is one 'plant' that produces electricity for the water pump--see if you can identify which one!
Doesn't the Frangi -Panni look nice? Nice fragrance, too.
