Thursday July 1st--Ferry to Ithaca -island of Homer and his Iliad--although the evidence of the rich history of this island is hard to find. The tourist dept keeps it very clean and the buildings are all newly painted in those 'Greek' two-tone colours. The island is vertiginous and the roads narrow--so Michael's driving skills were well tested (and up to the task!).
82nd Birthday - how did that happen?

Our local gallery , Hazelhurst, run by the council, hosted the year 12 indigenous art display which opened on Sunday with appropriate indigenous dances in Aboriginal costume . There were about 4o entries on display, all very good and some were for sale. The ones we liked had already been sold unfortunately.
