Jurassic Coast
Dorset is well-known for it's rich fossil strata and at Kimmeridge Bay, on the beach, we found many fossil imprints of the Jurassic era.
The Kimmeridge estate has remained with descendants of the Wyot family since 1300 and the current owner/descendant is a Philip Mansel.
After a pub lunch at the 'new Inn' --going back 160 years of one family ownership,
we went back to Studland beach for a swim, where someone had made an elaborate sand 'mermaid' and from where we could see the chalk 'Harry's Rocks'
Lost child--eaten by a T. Rex, or carried off by a mermaid, maybe?
