The next day we went for a walk on Lady Carrington Drive and had the good fortune to see a Lyrebird bird in the scrub nearby.
A couple of days later, while walking at Cronulla in the early morning, we saw the remarkable sight of a substantial trawler washed up on Cronulla beach--quite a crowd-attractor-plus TV stations, of course!
(It is still there at high tide this evening--tide still too low for pulling it off the rocks)

Our local gallery , Hazelhurst, run by the council, hosted the year 12 indigenous art display which opened on Sunday with appropriate indigenous dances in Aboriginal costume . There were about 4o entries on display, all very good and some were for sale. The ones we liked had already been sold unfortunately.
