Last day and at last-- the Olympics!

The LAST surprise before we began the final countdown to Heathrow was to meet the Australian Ladies Olympic Hockey team on Shoreditch station.........they obviously were waiting for me and it was their surprise for me--how nice of them......

At Heathrow--long-time friend Cliff came to see us off--very  thoughtful of him.

The day started for us at Tower Hill wherethe Olympic marathon course did a hairpin bend and we were able to see the road from park railings, where we cheered the Aussies--and everyone else.

Of course, not everyone seemed to enjoy it.........

Tower Hill is also the location of my old College--Sir John Cass--and amazingly--the site of a large new building construction which will be supervised by our son, Michael--whever would have thought?

The area also houses Petticoat Lane and many other memorable historical locations.
