Last full day and a welcome message!
Friend Clifford came over for the day and we drove( via lots of road pot-hole repair teams) to the Plough at Cadsden, a pub used by PM's in residence at nearby Chequers.

Inside is a photo of Xi Jing Ping with David Cameron having a half pint together.

We walked up a steep hill (directions courtesy of Tom) for a splendid view over Oxfordshire and some neolithic burial mounds. The biggest thing on the walk there, was receiving a Whatsapp message from Michael announcing the much -awaited birth of Harrison Michael!! Hooray!
We had lunch at the Plough then back to the Abbey for a walk in the grounds and drink and dinner there.
We discovered that the Abbey is owned by Buckingham University, so is in reality a University Campus, which explains all the courses run there. It really is a pleasant rarified academic atmosphere there.
Tomorrow, drive to Ashtead then Thursday car to Gatwick, taxi to Heathrow terminal 2 for 10.20pm flight to Singapore and Sydney.
It's been an incredible 50 days, packed with events, places and people. Our heartfelt thanks to all of you who helped make it possible by hosting us or meeting us .
Looking forward to being back and able to repeat this pub sign we saw at the Plough-
