Leaving York for London
IN two hours a packed Grand Central train took us, non-stop, from York to Kings Cross. All main line train seats now have a full power point available and WiFi.
When you have to wait on a crowded platform--do you wonder where everyone is going?
We joined the (increasingly complex ) tube system with our Oyster cards from Kings Cross to Dalston Junction. There are amusing underground adverts. The message about the window will amuse close family members-family joke, arriving at Michael's flat in a new complex. There is a pic of the next complex being built--Michael was the site manager for it for a time but, as I recall, he didn't like the office there so moved to another project--nice to pick and choose!
We finish with the London skyline from the top of Michael's block of flats and a family pic--taken after Michael had cooked our tea while we watched the entire Olympic opening ceremony--at last!
