Walk to Great Missenden
A mile of so from Jacqui
and Tom's house, through some beautiful larch, beach and hornbeam woods, lies the old town of Great Missenden, home to the author Roald Dahl. There is a museum and teashop (which I pictured inside) with many of his famous characters in evidence in the town.
There is also a 13thC Norman church, with all the vicars listed back to 1200, 15 years before the first tract was written in English, not French, starting with Richard de Oxon- no doubt a reference to the original nearby Oxford town.
The main street, with it's English flags, indicates that this area is indeed the heart of the new UKIP party!
