London continued
As a conclusion to the ride on Saturday, we went back via the Regents Canal and had a cake a tea at one of the canal-side cafes.
Sunday morning, we found we had a couple of hours hire left on the Boris bikes, so we set off
back along the Regents Canal, past some very varied canal house-boats, some decorated with growing flowers,
to Victoria Park, which contains some alcoves
from the old London Bridge (that did not get sent to Arizona!).
There was also a Heart Foundation run going on in the (huge) park.
There were stunning flower beds.
We concluded with a brunch back at a trendy Dalston cafe
then 'trained' back to Prestwood, where, under a sky criss-crossed by jet vapour trails,
we went on an afternoon stroll in the excruciatingly exquisite village of Little Missenden (no picture could do justice) where we enjoyed an ale in a very old pub, while Jacqui went on a slide in the local kids' park!
