Medieval battles, beaches and 'gigs'
In the week following Charlottes Pass, our band had a 'gig' at a local club--where we played the music from 'Skyfall'--very popular. Lighting always a problem for pics.
Today Mary wanted the local beach this morning, where she posed in her 'tankini' (I think they are called).
Behind her, a group emerged from the water looking like creatures from a Dr Who episode --monsters from the deep-or maybe the one where they 'unzip' their foreheads and out comes a monster insect!
In the afternoon, while Mary was at a choir rehearsal, I went off to a National Trust 'medieval battle' --where armour and weapons from the 8th to the 17th century were displayed in full battles. It looked pretty brutal. No horses though.
It took place in a very large cemetary--fairly appropriate, I thought. I came across a French friend and her two boys who were watching as well and we agreed it was strange that these battles were often England versus France and took place round the other side of the world-not that audience would have thought much about it.
