Michael and Kris wedding
We could only 'attend' this via Zoom, which didn't work too well for us, but we got the video straight after.
The ceremony only allowed for 5 fixed people, celebrant, wedding couple , two bridesmaids and roving photographer .
It took place in the historic Sydney harbour quarantine station--now a function centre. What an irony! So Mike and Kris came from quarantine to the quarantine station and back to quarantine!
A further remarkable coincidence was that my Dad was a purser on the P&O Stratheden cruise ship between the wars and visited Sydney 16 times in 10 years--I have his log book. If there was outbreak of cholera or typhoid (not uncommon) they had to stop at the quarantine station first for a week or so. Hence a connection with Michael's grandfather. There must be my father's name somewhere in the records. I must have a search. We don't have the official pics yet-showing Kris's incredible dress, but will add later. Daughter Jacqui in Bucks made a wedding cake 'couple' to display to them --very cute.
