Minor surgery
Checking your skin regularly is an important thing here in Oz. Normally I have a GP friend who has dermatological qualifications, so when I was persuaded to see another GP in the practice, he was keen to show he was thorough and quickly found two black spots on my arm, asking me to return in a couple of days for excision for testing. Imagine his embarrassment when, on returning, they had completely disappeared!
Rejecting my explanations of a blackhead or dirt, he then looked up and said, enthusiastically, "Oh well, it's a half hour appointment and I'm all set for it, so let's see if there's something else we can cut off!!!!" (I'm not joking).
After a short time he found another 'suspicious' spot, on a leg this time and it was duly excised --her's a pic of it after sewn up - a common excision in Oz.
Results tomorrow.
