Monaco
We visited Monaco by tram and train and returned via a beach-Villefranche, for a swim. Monaco is a weird place, stolen from the Phoenicians in 1327 by a cunning monk, Grimaldi, (pic of stature), whose family have owned it ever since and become 'respectable'.
It is clearly designed for the rich and famous, everywhere immaculately clean. There was a yacht festival in the harbour with a lot of very tall, 'jet-set' looking types around. A luxury private helicopter was on display, with a personal underwater marine vehicle and some outside marine exhibits near the museum, including a primive bathyship. The Alpha Romeo car was outside a sandwich shop.
