Morlaix

(Skip this entry if you don't like history- or philosophy!!)

Because philosophy is taught to children from age 5, in France, their graffiti is far more erudite than ours.

I saw another which simply said,in French--"sorry for your wall"!

A shuttle train took us to Morlaix in 20 minutes, in light rain. A major feature is the massive double-decker viaduct through the town--train on top and pedestrian path below.

The weather improved and we did an historic route around the town, with  buildings
dating backto the 1600's and the Losses of WWII still very much remembered, as well as some much earlier, gruesome conflicts--all here in French.

If the French seem to focus on it--remember --they were invaded.

There are always a lot of steps in these places,

The town is well preserved and decorated with spring flowers, as the French government comes to realise the tourist value of a well-kept historic town.

A clean, modern railbus took us back to Roscoff.
