Musee D'orsay and Champs Elysses

Jet-lag over came me last night again and I just crashed after the evening meal

This appartment  continues to impress us, with it's high decorated ceilings and double doors plus wall hangings worthy of  a stately home plus spacious rooms.

The pictures in this Musee D'Orsay must be very important because they had armed soldiers outside - or maybe something else was happening because there were dozens of police outside the USA Embassy and literally columns of soldiers at the Arc de Triomph, later on.

I left the musem early to see a science display -but it closed on Tuesdays and instead I was rewarded by finding one of the celebrated 'covered passages' of Paris, a bit like the walkways of the  QV building in Sydney, with 'chic' shops and paintings on the ceiling.

Meeting up with the others at Place de la Concorde, we walked through the Tuileries, to  the famous 'Arc' passing a   gold plated  statue of 'Jean d'Arc' on the away.

Michael reminded us that last time he had reached the Arc de Triomph;, it was by bicycle from London, for a charity ride!
