New year Marigolds
Happy New Year to all !
We saw the midnight fireworks (from Jacqui and Tom's place) and I noted some new patterns and colour combinations--always interests me.
There are about 1200 to 1400 individual French marigold blooms across our front and back gardens.
They are all self-seeded going back to over five years. Very hardy little plants with very high viability rates of germination each year and a strong colour (and fragrance which may not be universally liked!)
There's also a strong crop of Zinnias which may be both self seed and from Knepp wilding grounds in Kent.
The extra very heavy La Nína rain has helped a lot too, but done a lot of damage elsewhere.
Final bush pic is actually of a common design council water bubbler --many in popular public places here, but can you spot this lonely one, long way from the footpath!
