Nottingham

A day of sunny periods punctuated by sudden, short, heavy showers.

Before we met our Nottingham Coffee  Pot friends for lunch, we went into Nottingham, Mary to exchange some items at M & S and BH Stores--me to change the car at Avis for a newer, quieter Peugot 207.

Looking at the pics now, Nottingham looks quite interesting, with it's majestic Victorian buildings, although I felt it seemed to lack it's own culture (the shopping centre is Westfield, for example) and so many industries have gone --actually all of them.

I captured a few odd scenes ( I cannot explain the man with the bird on his arm) and a strange ad for a phone network --I think..!

The meal was at the Black Horse at Grimston-- a country  pub well known for good 'pub grub'. We enjoyed a good laugh about our years in flats in Nottingham in our early twenties and all the varied  activities we organised together--great years.
