Opera House

We took Jessica to see Mozart's 'The Magic Flute' performed by Opera Australia at the Joan Sutherland auditorium, Opera House, today. I was astonished to hear one of the songs -Pamina's Picture--which I have played many times on clarinet, without knowing the origin of it or the setting. It was quite strange, hearing it sung.

The opera characters were all lavishly costumed and the effect --with the stage settings--was stunning. No pics allowed inside of course.

A huge cruise ship--The Diamond Princess-was at Circular Quay - opposite the Opera House--always reminds me of Dad having been there, working with P&O, aged about 15!

Art Exhibition

Our local gallery , Hazelhurst, run by the council, hosted the year 12 indigenous art display which opened on Sunday with appropriate indigenous dances in Aboriginal costume . There were about 4o entries on display, all very good and some were for sale. The ones we liked had already been sold unfortunately.
