Portree

The day started with a pic of the Loch and a walk to a war memorial on a nearby hill.

We then drove to Portree, across fields where peat is harvested in long furrows, for home fires.

Portree is the capital of Skye and enjoys a small harbour and painted houses. The most common accent amongst all the tourists there, was German, followed by French. There was a Citizen's Advice Bureau in Portree, an idea that should be followed in Australia to better inform people of their choices as they move through life's big decisions on housing and retirement.

Returning, we saw a man playing bagpipes and some really impressive views of the hills.
