Ringmore and Ayrmer's Cove

A partial repeat of a walk we did with Jacqui and Tom in 2012, but this time we went into the 'Journey's End' pub for a (truly)  local ale and were stunned by the interior. The pub dates back to the 1300's and the interior was 'recently' updated in Lord Nelson's time to commemorate his ships.

Well, 200 years ago is recent compared to almost 800 years!

There were so many small rooms, none properly rectangular or with straight walls or level floors--all old wood and 4 fireplaces--so thought -provoking. Mary kept an eye on the maps for our route.

The villages around there are just exquisite, as is the countryside--even in rain--we did get a couple of showers.

The coastline is really impressive and I spotted a couple of river kayaks beached in a remote bay, with no sign of the occupants--you can just make them out in the pic--bit of a worry!

Travel update--Michael has today booked a cruise off the Croation coast for the three of us--July 27 to Aug 3rd and as we are so close to the Plymouth ferries, Mary and  I are considering a trip to Roscoff and the nearby 'pink granite coast' for a few days in France.
