Roscoff

The shock of deciding to suddenly leave Devon, return the car (probably a mistake, on reflection) get on an overnight  Brittany ferry

and check into a   Breton Hotel (Tamaris) rendered me incapable of doing the blog!

as we left Plymouth and thought the small cabin very neat and comfortable.Brittany ferries are very well managed. We recommend them.

The ferry itself is like a cross between a massive hotel and a Westfield shopping centre.

You have no sensation of being at sea at all.

Roscoff is a charming 16th century fishing town and the tourist people have really done a good job in presenting it.

We arrived on Bastille Day and there was a sailing regatta . Unfortunately the fireworks were the night before--the French do everything the night before !!

The spire of the main church is very elaborate.

The Breton language is everywhere.
