Rover Scout Squire investiture

When a Venture Scout reaches 18 years they can be invested as a trainee Rover Scout or 'Squire'. The tradition is based on the code of chivalry of medieval knights of St George  and the motto of Rover Scouts is 'Service to the community'. Right now in the war-torn Middle East it is Rover scouts and even younger sections, directing traffic, taking wounded people off the streets and fulfilling other public service duties.

The investiture of a trainee is more public but Knights are invested in private and with only other knights in attendance.

Tonight a Rover from a registered crew invested our first two rover squires, in Woronora Cemetary, where they are spending the night camped out (with full permission of the Management!)
