Scout cooking!

On Friday night I went first to a Joey scout meeting where they cooked backed potatoes on one of the best fires I have seen in a long time! They also made some chocolate cake baked in an orange peel.

Before I could taste either, I moved on to a scout hall where a new venturer group were preparing a meal for their parents, guest speakers and themselves. It started out being a five course meal, which we were advised had become four --and then a sort of 'tapas'. However, they made a good effort and presented things well and in great good humour. (I think they might have eaten a lot before it left the kitchen!)
