Spain 2006

We have been going through old albums etc and came across this pic.

It is of 'Cuca' a young Spanish lady that Mary first met at an ESL class here in Caringbah. She was with a friend -Christina.

We invited them for dinner one night and learned that Cuca had been the 2005 Spanish snowboarding champion, entered for the Olympics in Barrilocho, Argentina!

Also at dinner that night was son Michael who was just about to leave for that very place to go snowboarding, with friends.

Needless to say, the conversation that night was detailed and very helpful for Michael.

What a coincidence--40 million Spaniards and a country the size of Australia and this person arrives with the unique background for Michael's trip. The odds just on people numbers and locations must be one in billions, let alone the exact timing.

Mary and myself visited Spain in 2006 and spent a week with Cuca in the Pyrenees at her family mountain cottage (where we took this pic) then a week in Barcelona with her family.
