Sun----a walk and a concert

On the first fully sunny day we have had, we walked, with the dogs,  on some of the profusion of lovely footpaths around our suburb of Weston Turville.

Aylesbury is an urban town, surrounded by leafy villages--Mark Webber, the Australian formula 1 driver,  lives in the next one--Aston Climpton.

The local dense and ethereal woods enclose a disused canal and then open out onto wheat fields and the most productive allotments I have ever seen. Gliders sailed lazily overhead and bees and dragon-flies worked amongst the flowers.

Aylesbury claims to be the 'end of the world'--as you will see. Nice to know there is a also a nursing home nearby.

In the evening we attended an exciting small concert of 4 young wind players from the Royal College of Music, in a local 13C church, where we ate women's auxilliary salmon sandwiches and drank red wine in the interval, under the watchful eye of the lady priest, who told me she has finally been 'accepted'. There was an amusing notice on the board about the expected behaviour of the choir........

We walked home, still in warm  daylight, at 9.30pm.
