Sutherland Shire Community Awards

A few weeks ago, I wrote to Council recommending a friend -Gaye --for a community award, as I considered her most deserving of it.

She won the Citizen of the Year award! I had been asked to go and make a small video explaining Gaye's amazing work in ESL and for refugees and this was shown--which embarrrassed both of us--the pic I took of the screen has me at a moment when my eyes were shut-typical. Gaye is a shy person and was embarrassed as she, along with the winner of another award, considered themselves undeserving and overwhelmed by the attention.

There is no doubt at all that the audience considered all three category winners extremely deserving of recognition.
